LEGAL ADVISERS

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group, is a leader in sustainable investment in emerging markets. Investing in progress, innovation and partnership, IFC is at the forefront of private sector development.

IFC’s Legal Department supports regional and industry departments and provides legal advice in connection with the Corporation’s investment and advisory services activities. IFC Lawyers assist in negotiations from the early beginning of the project cycle and are responsible for legal documentation. IFC is seeking to recruit Legal Advisers.

Qualifications:

· Qualification to practice law in one or more jurisdictions

· Demonstrated ability to handle independently difficult corporate/commercial transactions in jurisdictions relevant to IFC, in particular secured lending, project finance, equity and structured finance transactions

· 8+ years of experience with a well recognized full service law firm specializing in business law and possibly financial institution and law practice: Experience focused on mergers and acquisitions, project finance and corporate finance.

· Excellent presentation skills in English (oral and written) and in other languages, preferably French, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Russian or Arabic

Positions are based in Washington, D.C. or in the field and will require international travel. IFC offers attractive remuneration and benefits.
